Summer watercolors

Happy Saturday! It's another challenge day for Our Creative Corner, and for her final challenge Linda Coughlin asked us to use cool blues and greens for summer. I combined these colors with the Joseph's Coat technique on a card we'll be making at my club this weekend.

First I stamped the En Francais background with Not Quite Navy on a panel of Whisper White card stock. Next I sponged Marina Mist and Certainly Celery ink over the panel. The image from Watercolor Trio was stamped three times with Versamark, embossed with clear EP, then covered with Marina Mist ink with a brayer. Once you wipe off the excess ink the soft sponged colors come out - it's a very cool technique. To finish the card I added a strip of retired celery DP, a strip of Not Quite Navy punched with the eyelet border punch, a sentiment from On Your Birthday, and a button faux tied with Marina Mist ribbon.

I hope you'll visit the OCC and play along with our challenge - I just love blue and green on my cards and I can't wait to see some wonderful colors this week!

Wow, Lori, these colors are wonderful. Your card came out beautiful. Love the technique you used. Very similar to what I did when I CASEd Sarah's card last week, but I didn't know it had a name. It was so much fun. I'm sure your stamp group will love it.
