Not sure how I squeezed this one in...

Somehow in the midst of the birthday and graduation party chaos yesterday, I managed to make a card for Jen's latest Sketch for You to Try. Some sketches just speak to me, and when I saw this one, I said, "Ooooooooh..." and had to play.

I hadn't done anything yet with my "Father" Art Impressions stamp. It seemed like a good choice for this sketch. I took my Stems and Silhouettes wheel and ran it over my old olive ink pad, then stamped onto very vanilla cardstock. I kept rolling until the image was getting lighter so that I could stamp the sentiment on top in chocolate chip.

For the smaller panel I stamped the leaf and outline stamps from Wonderful You in old olive in three generations, then did the same with the outline, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. The speckles are from the Bitty Backgrounds set, stamped third generation in chocolate chip. I edged both the panels in chocolate chip.

The background is the Pretty Pattern backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. It lives up to its name - how much do I love this?? I'm so glad I had the chance to get it on our trip last weekend. I had an extra SU background block so I mounted it to that with Tombow Mono Multi, and it worked perfectly. I stamped in chocolate chip on old olive cardstock and edged the panel again.

The two strips of wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon were the final touches for Jen's sketch. I added chocolate chip layers to everything, mounted the "father" panel on dimensionals and the leaf panel over top (with dimensionals on the left edge so it would lay flat), and put it all on a vanilla card.

Love this sketch, Jen - I think I'll be coming back to this one!
